A consumer unit replacement is more than changing the enclosure. The existing circuits need to be assessed, the new protection selected correctly, and the completed installation tested and certified.

A careful changeover
Existing faults are checked before the new board goes in
Testing before replacement helps uncover issues in the existing circuits. Even with pre-testing, some faults can become apparent only when a new layer of protection is introduced. Where this happens, the issue is explained and any additional remedial work is priced separately.
